Racing4Vets Veteran Kart Challenge: NASCAR Drivers and Fans Team Up to Support Service-Disabled Veterans

Racing4Vets Veteran Kart Challenge 2014

Racing4Vets and NASCAR® drivers have teamed up to support service-disabled veterans in a one-of-a-kind kart racing event. The First Annual Racing4Vets Veteran Kart Challenge will be held at GoPro Motorplex in Mooresville, NC on Monday, May 19, 2014 from 5:00 to 10:15 PM. The race is a two hour team relay format with race fans personally racing on the same kart teams as NASCAR® drivers.

NASCAR® Drivers

This one-of-a-kind event will feature 20 top NASCAR® Sprint Cup, Nationwide, Camping World Truck, K&N Pro Series and Whelen Modified Tour drivers, along with prominent motorsports journalists racing high performance go karts with fans and service-disabled veterans.

    NASCAR_AllStarRace2014NASCAR_Coca-Cola6002014Timing of the Racing4Vets Veteran Kart Challenge puts it directly between the NASCAR All-Star Race on May 17 and the Coca-Cola 600 on May 25 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. These two races generate a huge concentration of NASCAR fans and motorsports media in a single location, ensuring excellent fan attendance and media coverage.

    The race will be broadly publicized across multiple online, social media, radio, PR and print channels, reaching over 5 million consumers. An additional 2,500 race fans will visit the track for a chance to race karts with their favorite NASCAR® driver.

    Event Activities

    Event attendees will have the opportunity to participate in multiple exciting activities. The schedule of events includes:

  • A free autograph session with NASCAR® personalities to be announced
  • Watch and/or participate in a two hour endurance kart race with each four-person team made up of a NASCAR® driver and three race fans. Racing4Vets will field two race teams of service-disabled veterans drivers.
  • Participate in a raffle to win NASCAR® race memorabilia, racing gear and other donated items
  • Honoring our Vets with a “Wall of Significance” to pay respect to our fallen and injured U.S. Military Veterans
  • Visit sponsors demonstration booths
  • The opportunity to meet and greet service-disabled U.S. military veterans
  • Donate to a food drive for local veterans and their families in need

    All proceeds from the event go to Racing4Vets, a 501(c)(3) non-profit which helps service-disabled veterans recuperate from their injuries, obtain career training and experience healthy competition through participation in motorsports.
