Racing4Vets Kart Racing TeamRacing4Vets will soon launch the first all-injured veteran outdoor kart racing team in United States history!  Led by our Ohio-Kentucky chapter veterans, the team has been hard at work building their karts for the 2013 outdoor racing season.

Swap meet kartsStarting less than two months ago the team purchased and completely rebuilt 2 race karts and equipped them with new “420 Clone” motors, courtesy of PFM Racing and Appco Racing.  With output of approximately 14 horsepower, these 4-stroke centrifugal clutch karts can achieve 60 mph+ on the straights and 3-4 g-forces in the corners.  Each kart has been built from the ground up by our injured veterans.

Racing4Vets 420 Clone kart motorsAll veterans on the team trained throughout the Winter in our indoor kart program at Full Throttle Karting in Springdale, Ohio.  With dedication and leadership they have  supported their fellow veterans in the Veterans Administration’s PTSD / TBI rehabilitation program who come to race indoor karts with us every month.  The camaraderie and commitment shown by each vet in our kart program has resulted in an opportunity to compete against the area’s finest racers in full race 420 Clone karts.

Racing4Vets would like to thank all of our supporters, in particular:

Ohio Valley Karting Association (OVKA)Ohio Valley Karting Association (OVKA) has provided unrivaled support to get our veteran’s kart team onto the track.  The OVKA membership has worked to enable our veterans to earn points as a team, and made a very large contribution to reduce our costs of attendance at events.  Without the OVKA, our veterans would only be able to achieve a partial season.  Thank you!

AAPCO RacingAppco Racing supports Racing4Vets by providing reduced cost parts and services, shop time, knowledge and logistical support to get our karts on the track with only the best of the best.  A member of the Appco family is one of our injured veteran karters and we are proud to say that Appco Racing is a truly patriotic American company!

PFM kart racing partsPFM Parts builds our 420 Clone 4-stroke engines and has a well-deserved reputation as a top quality kart engine shop.  PFM has proven they are 100% injured veterans supporters by building our kart motors at cost, and they to provide us with invaluable advice.

Full Throttle Indoor Karting CincinnatiFull Throttle Indoor Karting is our team’s home base, providing us working facilities, transportation to the track, use of their indoor karts and track for our VA PTSD / TBI karting  rehabilitation program, and a wealth of support and advice.  They are the best partners we could ever ask to have.
